Who is Aeolus Research?

Aeolus Research, Inc. is a private engineering services and consulting company that was established in February 1999 and specializes in the development of customized and cost-effective parallel computing platforms optimized for the analysis of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) problems.

Environmental awareness and stringent emissions regulations have forced numerous industries to improve their manufacturing and engineering processes to achieve better designs with less pollution and an acceptable turnaround time for the design-development cycle. In the areas where the design or the engineering processes heavily rely on the computer models, the turnaround time in computer simulations has been the bottleneck. For example, a gas turbine engine manufacturer may wish to simultaneously achieve higher thrust, smaller size and weight while keeping the emissions low and improving engine efficiency and fuel economy. The computer simulation capability to model the multi-stage row of blades in a compressor or turbine plays an important role in the design process. However, this capability is bounded with the computational limits of a single-processor computer. This is why parallel computing on high-performance computers has become crucial to achieve the desired design goals within the time constraints imposed by the deadlines.

Our mission is to provide our customers with affordable and customized high-performance computing resources and offer our engineering expertise in the field of computational fluid dynamics and it's applications to integrate these computing resources with the state-of-the-art software tools and solution techniques drawn from the academic research in the area.

Our staff consists of Ph.D. level engineers with diverse backgrounds and expertise acquired in the related industries.
